Lidia Bastianich, the beloved chef star of American TV shows, who has seduced the world with her recipes, says it convincingly. And, following her visit to Calabria in 2017, she decided to include local traditional recipes in her latest book “Lidia’s celebrate like an Italian”.

Travelling to taste is a good way to decide where you will spend your holidays. Danielle Pergament of the New York Times was of the same opinion when she claimed “United States have been fascinated by Calabria food excellences”. She included Calabria among the 52 essential locations to visit in 2017, stating that she was seduced by the cuisine of the young Calabrian starred chefs.

CALABRIA WAS THE ANCIENT MAGNA GRAECIA, THE LAND OF THE RIACE BRONZES.

Food, sea, sport, culture, myths, legends.

Calabria is the heart of the Mediterranean

Beaches and cliffs alternate along the 800 km long coast of Calabria where the sea is crystal clear and abundant with fish, and waters are mild. Plenty of archaeological remains are still buried under water, guarded by the medieval castles and watchtowers sprinkled on the shore.

Raging streams flow along canyons where visitors can do rafting and canyoning. Natural Parks with their unique ecosystem offer unforgettable sports and nature experiences all year round. Spa waters can do wonders for your body.

Several world-famous influencers were seduced  by the lights and perfumes of Calabria. Mastercard listed the region among the 10 top hidden treasures for 2017; “The Telegraph”and the French “Le Monde”, in an article by Jerome Gautheret, celebrated the “sublime” beauty of Calabrian beaches.

Calabria is a land that for quality and quantity is truly unique – says Lidia Bastianich – Americans are discovering the great quality of food and products of Calabrian enogastronomy.
